Dr. Mike McPhillips

The Causeway Retreat's Medical Director is Dr Mike McPhillips, BA (Cantab), MB BS, MRCP, MRCPsych. Dr McPhillips is a leading authority on the treatment of psychiatric and addictive disorders and is a member of The Royal College of Physicians and of The Royal College of Psychiatrists.

In addition to his specialist training in Adult Psychiatry and Substance Misuse Psychiatry, Dr McPhillips' Postgraduate Training included General Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Cardiology, Oncology, Intensive Care and Transplant Medicine.

He has previously lectured at the Imperial College Medical School in London and his published research includes articles in the British Journal of Psychiatry; Medicine; Medicine, Science and Law; and International Clinical Psychopharmacology. He is a Trustee of the Addictions Recovery Foundation, UK.

Dr McPhillips regularly gives postgraduate and public lectures in the fields of substance misuse and adult psychiatry, and has contributed on a number of occasions to mainstream media items dealing with these topics.
