He graduated from the Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio with a BSc in Mental Health and Human Services, followed by a Masters in Social Work (MSW) at The State University of New York, Stonybrook.
Joseph has over 20 years worth of work experience in the fields of Addiction, Mental Health, 12 Step Recovery, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Couple and Family Therapy, Individual Therapy and Group Therapy as well as Crisis Intervention. He is a very active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and in his spare time enjoys cooking, D.I.Y, scuba diving and sailing as well as writing, studying spirituality, nature and animals.
When asked what he thought about the Island, Joseph had this to say:
What do I think about the island? Well, I love its beautiful scenery, the wild life, the water, and the free oysters! But most importantly, I like that fact that it’s a peaceful, secluded and safe place, away from the bustle of the world, which seems to have a natural quality of healing, and fosters a natural sense of well being.
The Causeway Retreat has the experts in the treatment of drug and alcohol addiction. Our medical director, Dr. Donna Grant and consultant psychiatrists Dr Gary Bell and Dr Vince Gradillas will give you the treatment you need.
