At hospital hotels, cholesterol and blood-sugar levels will be measured by urine tests each time you use the toilet, the results shown on a LED display behind a mirror. Stand at the basin and sensitive footpads will provide a reflexology exam. While using the magnifying mirror, you can have a diametric iris scan. Heart rates and breathing patterns will be examined by monitors built into the bed.
Rehab is likely to become increasingly up-market and ultra-discrete. The Causeway Retreat, a private island of England's south coast already offers bespoke addiction treatment programmes.
